RESUMEN La presente investigación tiene como objetivo diagnosticar el estado actual del borde costero con el fin de plantear posibles soluciones para su protección. El impacto socio ambiental en el borde costero; particularmente en áreas donde la injerencia gubernamental es deficiente, aumenta los desafíos ambientales que se presentan en la zona costera de la bahía de Buenaventura, al mismo tiempo las actividades cotidianas de las comunidades asentadas en la zona, hacen del borde costero en un espacio vulnerable con impactos negativos para el medio ambiente. Conocer y entender la percepción de los miembros de la comunidad local, en cuanto a la contaminación e involucrarlos en actividades de sensibilización sobre cómo afectan nuestras acciones cotidianas la biodiversidad es el primer paso para hallar soluciones que protejan el borde costero. Esto permitirá: Fortalecer la conciencia colectiva sobre la importancia de la conservación, Fomentar cambios en comportamientos y hábitos diarios, Promover la participación activa en iniciativas de protección ambiental y Desarrollar estrategias efectivas para preservar nuestro patrimonio natural. Juntos, podemos garantizar un futuro próspero para nuestra sociedad y un borde costero sano para las generaciones venideras. Por último, se plantearon siete recomendaciones apoyadas en los ODS con un enfoque social y ambiental. ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to diagnose the current state of the coastal edge in order to propose possible solutions for its protection. The socio-environmental impact on the coastal edge, particularly in areas where governmental interference is deficient, increases the environmental challenges presented in the coastal zone of the Buenaventura Bay. At the same time, the daily activities of the communities settled in the area make the coastal edge a vulnerable space with negative impacts on the environment. Knowing and understanding the perception of members of the local community regarding pollution and involving them in awareness-raising activities on how our daily actions affect biodiversity is the first step to finding solutions to protect the coastline. This will allow: Strengthening collective awareness of the importance of conservation, Encouraging changes in daily behaviors and habits, Promoting active participation in environmental protection initiatives, and Developing effective strategies to preserve our natural heritage. Together, we can guarantee a prosperous future for our society and a healthy coastline for future generations. Finally, seven recommendations were made based on the SDG with a social and environmental focus.
