Resumen En este documento se abarcaron los problemas evidenciados en el municipio de Buenaventura con el desabastecimiento de agua potable por parte del servicio de acueducto, lo cual llevó a buscar alternativas de captación de aguas lluvia , debido a las condiciones climáticas de la zona, así mismo indagar sobre los problemas que acontecían desde años atrás en este sector y buscar los diferentes sistemas de captación de aguas lluvias implementados a nivel internacional, nacional y local, además estudiar cual sería el costo y beneficio que tendría aplicar estos sistemas en las viviendas de Buenaventura y determinar a cual comunidad, si a la de zona rural o zona urbana sería mejor aplicada, dependiendo sus necesidades y frecuencia con la que llega el servicio de agua potable por medio del acueducto, así mismo se desarrolló unas alternativas de aplicabilidad de los sistemas dependiendo la materialidad de las viviendas y a su vez exponer los materiales y costos de estos elementos para tener en cuenta a la hora de la implementación de estos sistemas en las viviendas. Abstract In this document, the problems evidenced in the municipality of Buenaventura with the shortage of drinking water from the aqueduct service were addressed, which led to seeking alternatives for rainwater harvesting due to the climatic conditions of the area. Likewise, it investigated the problems that had been occurring for years in this sector and sought the different rainwater harvesting systems implemented at the international, national, and local levels. Additionally, it studied the cost and benefit of applying these systems in the homes of Buenaventura and determined which community, whether rural or urban, would be better suited depending on their needs and the frequency with which potable water service arrives through the aqueduct. Furthermore, alternatives for the applicability of the systems were developed depending on the materiality of the homes, and the materials and costs of these elements were exposed to be taken into account when implementing these systems in the homes.
